In 1986, Tyre-Grip™ was developed in Norway as an alternative to spiked winter tires, which caused considerable pollution and heavy damage to road surfaces. Tyre-Grip™, “chains in a can”, a name once commonly used in Norway, was formulated with special properties to create a more convenient way to improve tire traction, increase road grip and mobility.

Tyre-Grip™ was acquired by an American company in 1991. Despite its success as an alternative to improved traction, the formula was redesigned due to failure in meeting the government legislation. The product included a harmful chemical that did not comply with the US safety standards of the Air Quality Management District (AQMD), Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA), and Department of Transportation (DOT).

With rigorous laboratory studies, skilled chemist worked diligently to birth a revolutionized Tyre-Grip™. The revolutionary new Tyre-Grip™, with enhanced traction properties, has been sold to Americans all over the United States since 1994. Tyre-Grip™ contains no corrosive chemicals and is environmentally safe for drivers and pedestrians. Tyre-Grip™’s exclusive technology coats the tire with an adhesive film to provide a secure grip on the road and prevent ice and snow from accumulating on the tires.

Tyre-Grip™ continues to undergo many performance tests to ensure that motorists are guaranteed tire traction on ice and snow whenever driving conditions are affected by any form of precipitation - rain, fog, sleet, snow, or ice.
